I’m thrilled.
I just received an e-mail from Dave informing me that I have another interview with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education in about a week. The subject line was “SMOE Interview (one more time!),” while the rest of the e-mail was the same form letter that was sent to me the last time. I'm not quite sure if it's an exasperated or happy exclamation mark, but it's good news to me either way. Thanks, Dave.
Seeing how well that first "interview" went, I'm praying and hoping that I not only do well in the interview, but that the phone number doesn't mysteriously change on me and that I will manage to pick up the phone when it rings. Wish me luck - I need as much as I can get.
In the meantime, I'm working on getting my documents together. I'm still waiting to get my criminal records check in; I wonder how large my file must be if processing it is taking so long. I joke, I joke (I hope).
And finally, I had bought some Korean keyboard stickers for my laptop. Now, even if my spelling and grammar are completely off, I can stop guessing which keys will produce which letters. I only know that the vowels are on the right and the consonants are on the left, so my usual attempts at typing in the Korean language resemble birds pecking, with very confused facial expressions in between the button pressing and the backspacing. I don't even want to say how long it takes me to type a simple elementary level sentence.

First!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, and good luck!
I couldn't really choose between these... so I'll post them in order of hilarity Ascending or descending, that's for you to decide.

ReplyDeleteSee! I told you they would give you another chance!
ReplyDeleteI'm so very happy for you!
Good luck on the interview, Gloria!
Thanks, Jessica, for the support. I feel so loved.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the Open ID worked this time. =]
Good luck on your interview. Where did you find the 한글 keyboard stickers? I need that for my laptop too! Haven't quite memorized all the Korean keyboard..
ReplyDeleteThanks. :) I got the stickers here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X5H398, although I think I've seen ones that are 39 cents also... maybe cheaper. A college friend of mine told me she has Hebrew stickers on her computer; that probably looks really pretty.
ReplyDeleteHope this goes through via the live journal username. Congrats on the interview thus far! Hope that all works out and you get a chance to work overseas. That would be wonderful for you. Let me know how it all goes. Ill be on skype on monday night so hope to see you there. hugs!
ReplyDeleteYup. It got through. Thanks Haydee. :)
ReplyDeleteEven more wonderful for the kids, right? Wrong!
ReplyDeleteHa, just kidding. ;) When's the next interview, by the way? Been waiting for days for an update.
Tuesday evening for me... so Wednesday ... very very very early morning for you, if my guesstimation is correct. =]
